A few weeks ago I found such a nice initiative: het Plantenasiel, or in English: the plant shelter. The plant shelter is located in Amsterdam and is founded by Rachelle. She thought it was horrible how some people treated their plants and decided to do something about it. She gives everyone who sees their plants die because they can’t take care of it, the option to bring it to her. She will take care of it and make sure it gets to a lovely new home. I think this is one of the best initiatives I’ve seen in a while! I hope there will be more plant shelters around the globe one day. You can follow the adventures of the plant shelter on Facebook and on Tumblr.

Now the sun is shining, everyone is going outside and showing their super white winter legs to the world. I think it’s one of the nice things in the Netherlands that everyone embraces the sun, it makes people so much more happier. With these warmer temperatures, it’s time for a new wardrobe! Here is my inspiration for this spring and summer. You can find all the pictures on my pinterest.

When Michiel and I were celebrating our six months anniversary, he suddenly gave me my delayed birthday present! And it’s the best birthday present I could ever wished for. Do you remember Ulrika Kestere? I’ve got a photograph she made hanging in my bedroom. Michiel knew I liked her work very much and decided to e-mail her and asked her if she wanted to make a special mug for me! She made this lovely mug with penguins and cats (my favourite animals). The best present ever!

A few weeks ago I ordered this print from Ulrika Kestere and last week it finally arrived! She’s one of my favourite artist of the moment, her illustrations and photographs are so enchanting. This particular photograph is made in her own village in Sweden. The environment is so nice and although it’s not a particular ‘happy’ picture I think it depicts a really peaceful moment. Ulrika also has a blog and you can buy her photographs here.
