Berlin tips

My friend Anne lives in Berlin and I visited her twice. Here you can read our stories 1 / 2 / 3 / 4.

Here are some main tips:
► Be sure you always have cash. A lot of shops and cafes don’t accept cards.
► Download Foursquare. Such a great app if you want to find the hotspots in the area.
► Rent bikes. It is definitely the best way to explore Berlin.
► Wear comfortable shoes. Berlin is huge, you better face this city without blisters.

We only explored East Berlin so I can only give you tips about this part. As I only visited the city twice, we obviously didn’t see everything Berlin has to offer. But I hope you like these tips!

Coffee, lunch and dinner

Shakespeare and Sons
On my last morning in Berlin, Anne and I went here to study. It is a great place to sit and read, work or study.

Silo coffee
Michiel and I had lunch here and although we had to wait for a while, it was delicious!

Concierge Coffee
Very small place but a great spot to chill when you just did some shopping at the Wochenmarkt am Maybachufer.

Aunt Benny
We have not been here but according to many people this is a great place…

Wochenmarkt am Maybachufer
A market with a lot of fabrics and a lot of food. We had a kebab – it was delicious.

Great place to hang out and chill with a beer. You have a stunning view of the city from here.

The burgers at Burgermeister are super tasty! The price – quality ratio is excellent. It is an on-the-go meal, standing while eating style, and I’ve heard it is always packed. Nevertheless a great spot on a great location.

Flohmarkt am Mauerpark
This is the place to be on a Sunday: fleamarket, park, music, food.

Kauf Dich glücklich Flagshipstore
Cool shop with clothes, shoes and home accessoires.

& other stories
I really like this brand and as there is no physical store in my neighborhood I just had to visit them in Berlin!

Made in Berlin
Very cool vintage store. It is huge so take your time!

Acne Studios
My budget does not allow me to buy anything here but it’s great eye candy.
